My sister Yvonne has that rare gift of being a dreamer and the courage of treading the unknown path. She has the guts to explore and create her own destiny and not be bounded by one's life circumstances. Between the two of us, she's surely the "braver" one!
Growing up, I was a little, ok make that very jealous of the fact that she's tall, slim and has a pair of incredibly long legs! And that she could eat six meals a day, not exercise and remain naturally slim. It didn't help that relatives often compared the both of us and remarked that we totally do not look like sisters! It irritated the hell out of me when the irritating relatives keep asking me (their version of joking) "why you eat your sister's share of the food? that's why she's so skinny!" DUH!!!! Ok, this is a happy birthday tribute so enough of irritating relatives.
The growth point for our relationship was when we went on a trip to Italy together about 8 years ago or rather make that, after the trip. We got much closer after that.
For the past few years, my sis has been a source of strength and comfort to me. She takes my lame jokes in her stride, she patiently puts up with my yakking away of ideas and of life and she takes care of me.
